Censorship on Facebook

After yesterday's post "Why Animals Don't Have Rights" was  shared on Facebook, there was a block placed on any messages from the Time4Dogs blog being posted. When you try to use the share button, you will see this message:

Sorry, this post contains a blocked URL

The content you're trying to share includes a link that's been blocked for being spammy or unsafe:

2.bp.blogspot.com

I've certainly contacted Facebook to express my displeasure at their blatant censorship. Several times.

The simple truth is so threatening to certain animal extremist groups that they resort to desperate attempts to suppress that truth. Luckily, we still have freedom of speech in SOME internet venues. Just NOT Facebook.

  1. It's most likely because there are people reporting the link as spam because they disagree with it. FB just assumes if there's more than one report that it's legit, unless you challenge them on it yourself.

  2. I think this might be a facebook issue--not your blog post. I got the same message today. I haven't posted anything out of the ordinary. A friend told me that she had this a few weeks ago. Hopefully it will clear up. I am on blogger too.

  3. I posted the link to the story on my FB page and it was not blocked .

  4. I think the problem had to do with the PETA ad that I included in the post. I've deleted that picture and hopefully after the cyberdust settles the share function will once again work. We'll see....

  5. I tried to post then told them you were a good site and needed to be allowed. Hope it helps. Still able to tweet you.

  6. it is a facebook issue, for some reason he thinks 2.bp.blogspot.com is a domain that contains spam, so every URL that contains this domain is blocked, in Blogger this is a host for images, so, any post that contains image with this host is blocked... im my case, the header image is in that host, so I cant share anything

  7. This is so odd. I deleted the old picture "Holocaust on your plate" but it still showed up as a thumbnail when trying to "share" and I was blocked from sharing....but I found a different copy of the same picture, added that one, and now I can share the post!!! Wierd. It had something to do with the picture that I sourced in the original post. Let's see how long things will be OK. Gee!

  8. I really -hope- it is a FB error/glitch rather than deliberate censorship. If FB continues to disallow your link, well, I am appalled.
